Recently, the launch ceremony for demonstration run of hybrid intercity buses was held in Zhengzhou General Station of Passenger Transport. Decorated with red ribbons, ten units of Yutong ZK6140MGQA9 hybrid buses were put into operation on Zhengzhou-Kaifeng route.  

Zhao Jiancai, mayor of Zhengzhou, and Sun Jinxian, secretary-general of the municipal committee attended the ceremony. Niu Bo, general manager of Zhengzhou Yutong Bus Co., Ltd. delivered a speech on behalf of the company.

As a leading company in China’s bus industry, Yutong is always making efforts on research, development and promotion of new energy vehicles. The demonstration run project is not only an approach to environment-friendly development for Zhengzhou city and Henan Province, but also provides a platform for Yutong to explore its new energy products, said Niu.

Adopted advanced powertrain and battery systems, the hybrid buses feature good performance. The field test shows a fuel consumption cut of over 17%，thermal efficiency rise of 10% and emission reduction of 30%.

It is learned this is also the first time in the industry to put hybrid buses in intercity route operation.
